Reading: The Killing Floor (infection 2)

The Killing Floor by Craig DiLouie

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have to admit that I like the 1st better, but maybe it’s because I think all the interesting characters snuffs it in the first book – leaving only uninteresting and/or stereotypical characters. Sarge is about the only saving grace.
The driving story is also not as interesting as the first.
BUT with that said, it’s still the sequel to one of my all time favorite books, and I love it – it starts out super strong, and takes a nosedive, the end is lame (sorry man, but it is). I still absolutely recommend this book if you’re into apocalypse stories with kind of zombies- kind of aliens?!

Now this is a re-read, I bought this when it came out and own it in paperback. Years later I decided to get this and the sequel as kindle books too, because I admit I read more on my kindle these days, and I absolutely loved these books.
While I think I was easier to impress back when I read this first time. But I still think the virus holds, and the apocalypse holds. Some of the characters not so much, and I have a hard time telling some of them apart – But I will still say that it’s one of the best zombie apocalypse books I know (even if it’s not technically zombies).
But read it! seriously if you like apocalypse fiction, you’re missing out if you haven’t read this book!
